    A self-taught design critic, Véronique Vienne was a magazine art director in the USA when she began to write to better analyze and understand the work of the graphic designers, illustrators and photographers who collaborated with her.

    Véronique has written extensively on lifestyle trends, design ethics, and business practices. She has edited, art-directed, and written essays for a number of design publications in the USA and in Europe (House & Garden, Emigré, Communication Arts, Eye, Graphis, Aperture, Metropolis, Etapes, Print, and more). Her monograph on the work of Chip Kidd was written in 2003 (Laurence King Publishing). Her latest book, 100 Ideas that Changed Graphic Design, co-authored with Steven Heller, has been translated in 10 languages.

    Véronique now lives in France where she teaches in various art schools and conducts workshops on design criticism as a creative tool.
