As the head of UX and Design for CNN Digital, I run the creative group for CNN's and HLN's websites in the US and around the world, as well as for the company's mobile and tablet sites and apps and other emerging digital experiences. My team of more than 25 User Experience, Visual Design, Motion Graphics, Interactive, and Rich Media Development folks work across three teams -- applying design-thinking business strategy and user-centered design practices to Product Design, News Design (interactives and visual and multimedia journalism,) and Creative Production (standards, style guides, and pattern libraries.)

Prior to CNN, I led the User Experience practice for the California offices of Razorfish and served in many other roles during my 10 years at the firm’s San Francisco offices. In the early days of digital, I worked in product development at CNET Networks and editorially driven search for LookSmart – after falling in love early with broadcasting and media (and great music) during my time in college radio.

Through my work in user-centered design and design thinking, I've helped organizations like ESPN, ABC, and Disney, as well as Singapore Airlines, NASA, McKesson, Visa, Cisco, and others use the digital channel to delight and honor their audiences and customers -- while also driving serious business growth.

I hold a BA in Anthropology and Film & Media Studies from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business.
