  When she was 17 years old, Sashka’s mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and her entire world shifted. She handled of much of her care until she passed away 11 months later. During that process, she became acutely aware of how fragmented our healthcare system is and how difficult it is to connect to direct and immediate support. 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women are diagnosed with cancer and most everyone will face some kind of financial devastation because of it.
  
  In 2012 she founded Standbuy. The goal of Standbuy is to provide a focused, supportive, and easy-to-use platform to help ease the financial burden for cancer patients and their families. Standbuy is deeply committed to creating an accessible community that facilitates economic support, social awareness, and personal guidance.
