About
Karen Gereffi, Senior Art Director at creative ad agency Johannes Leonardo, is an exceptionally talented young creative with the power to make a difference with her standout work.
At Johannes Leonardo, Karen has done great work with brands like Google (including the launch of Google Maps for iPhone), Coca Cola (empowering teens to be themselves) and more. She has also creatively led an initiative with the Bezos Family Foundation launching later this year. Before making the move to Johannes Leonardo in 2012, Karen was at R/GA, making an impact on Nike Running, Google and Walmart to name a few.
In her short time in the industry, she’s garnered four international awards. She was also one of the 5 international student teams to win the Cannes Future Lions title in 2008. Interestingly enough, Karen’s team was low on funds to make the trip, so she raised $10,000 in 24 hours to pay for airfare and accommodations at the festival. In 2010, Karen had another run in with the Cannes Lions, when she represented the USA as the digital team in the Young Lions competition. Karen has also won a spot on the 2011 One Show Young Ones jury and judged the One Show Young Ones “Client Pitch” competition in 2010 and 2011.
Karen has a passion for reversing the 3 percent, and sharing what she’s learned. After the 2013 3% Conference, Karen published a byline on IHAVEANIDEA that focused on what she learned from the conference and how the industry can truly make a difference by owning the mission to change it.
