About
In Boston’s male-dominated advertising industry, Alyssa Toro shows that it’s possible for a woman to rise to the top and still make it home for soccer games.
But Toro, who was promoted to be chief creative officer at Connelly Partners in Boston on Sept. 1, remains in a minority in her field: Women make up just 3 percent of creative directors nationwide.
Toro attributes her success to her tenacity and the agency’s family friendly work environment. “My parents always told me that you can’t run a marathon and go to the moon in the same day,” said Toro, 42. “Ever since then, I’ve been trying to prove them wrong.”
