About
Laurel is an award-winning Copywriter, Creative Director and passionate advocate for diversity in the creative and tech industries. She’s currently leading story development for the new wearables team at Google (formerly Glass), but has also worked for Gensler, Fantasy Interactive, Razorfish, SapientNitro, Rosetta, Organic, Riney, and Google’s Brand Studio. Her creative work has been honored by the Clios, The One Show, Creativity International, AdAge, The Appys and The ADDYs. And she’s proud to be part of the leadership team that runs The 3% Conference.
A big believer in supporting the next generation, Laurel spent three years teaching digital advertising to MFA advertising students at the Academy of Art University, and in 2014, helped develop and bring to life the first ever CD Bootcamp programming with industry luminaries like Nancy Vonk, Rob Schwartz and Xanthe Wells. This past May, she spearheaded and co-founded Next Creative Leaders initiative with The One Club, shining a much-needed light on up-and-coming female creative talent. She has been both a breakout session and a main stage speaker at The 3% Conference, has written for the One Club's digital publication, ONE, A MAGAZINE, and is currently writing a thought leadership piece for another major industry publication.
